아직 컴퓨터가 자기한테 잘 맞는지 생각해본 적이 없는 사람을 위한 CS50's Understanding Technology,
컴퓨터 공학의 지적인 진취정신과 프로그래밍의 정수에의 입문..인 CS50's Introduction to Computer Science.
전자의 커리큘럼을 살펴보았다.
주제는 크게 6가지. Hardware, Internet, Multimedia, Security, Web Development, Programming.
그리고 2~6 hours per week, for 6 weeks인 걸로 보아 주제별 난이도와 친숙한 정도에 따라서 소요시간이 달라질 것 같다.
호기심이 생겨서 일단 등록을 했다.
첫 번째 주제인 하드웨어로 들어가 보니
굉장히 심플하게 필요한 것만 제공해주고 있다. Lecture는 비디오로, Notes는 자료 링크로, Assignment는 설문 링크로 연결된다.

주제에 걸맞게 CPU, 램, HDD, Flash Memory 등에 대한 설명이 주를 이룬다.
설문을 구경해보니,
우선 구글 폼으로 되어 있고, 깃허브 아이디(없으면 만들라고 돼있다)와 국적, edX 유저명을 비롯한 개인정보를 요구한다.
또 표절에는 가차 없다(ZERO TOLERANCE plagiarism policy)고도 알려주고, 이 강의에서 뭘 얻고 싶은지 같은 것도 물어본다.
이런저런 질문들에 대답하다보면 수업에서 언급했음직한 것들을 물어보는데,
보통 사람은 손가락 5개로는 5까지 밖에 못 세지만(무려 일진법(!)), 손가락을 접고 안 접고로 이진수 0과 1를 표현한다고 하면, 한쪽 손으로는 얼마까지 표현할 수 있는가 같은 것들을 물어본다.
굉장히 유익하게 생겼다. 생각보다 재미있을 것 같기도 하다.
